How the fuck do I get this open? This screw is holding it shut yet I can’t get the screw out. Already cut the shit out of my thumb by accident. And yes, I know this is a really stupid question.

Wedge a screw driver in between and break it? Looks like the plastic tab lock on a bucket that you see when you buy chrlorine tabs.

Use your thumb or some thumb strengthening device(thimble/dime) and push out the plastic pin. Or cut it off like others suggested.

Cut thumbs off. No more thumb issues.
Or you squeeze the locking ends together with pliers and pull/push.

Hammer is always the right solution. If a hammer doesn’t work then assume it is an electrical problem.
